Unity’s Men’s Program helps men to involuntarily start to reexamine and redefine what it means to be male and eventually realize the old stereotypes we were taught restrict us too much. Men do have toughness, but men also have a loving gentleness that is both unique and wonderful. Recovery at Unity challenges old notions about what it means to be male. Recovery for men involves redefining and reshaping values, enhancing their lives and the lives of those around them. Unity’s Men’s Program continually challenges men to develop a new world view by pitting them against their old values and beliefs that have contributed to addictions. Recovery for men involves enhancing our lives and the lives of those whom we love. Unity’s Men’s Program continually challenges men to develop their life’s purpose as well as new self understanding.

Men and women suffer from many different issues and we feel that it is important to address their issues individually while in drug and alcohol rehab. At times, however, integrated group therapy treatment with both sexes is invaluable as it is important and healthy to learn how to adapt and react to various discussions and feelings that may arise between opposing sexes while in a controlled environment. Unity’s treatment center mixed groups provide the opportunity to become equipped with the tools it takes to coexist in society while in drug and alcohol rehab.
