Actor Verne Troyer Starts Rehab for Alcoholism

Actor Verne Troyer recently spent 2 weeks at the hospital due to problems caused by alcohol abuse and has since stated that he will voluntarily re-enter rehab to treat his alcoholism.

Troyer has undergone rehab multiple times and nearly died of alcohol poisoning in 2002. Best known for his portrayal of “Mini-me” in the Austin Powers series and his role in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001), his struggles with alcohol have been in the public eye as far back as 2002.

The 48-year old actor said the following, directed at his concerned fans: “As you know, I’ve battled alcohol addiction in the past and while it’s not always been an easy fight, I’m willing to continue my fight day by day…I want to thank everyone that’s reached out with their messages of support, it truly means the world to me. With your support, I got this.”
